My New Favorite :: Inukshuk
Inukshuk.
First off, I just love the word. And, I’ve found myself saying it—for no other reason than it’s just sounds great.
Second, this past week while in Canada I stopped by Mark Petersen’s office (blog more, we miss it) and saw a representation of an Inukshuk on his bookshelf. Something about it captured my attention, tucked itself in my imagination and hasn’t let me go.
Finally, the night...

Open Letter to President Barack Obama
Dear Mr. President*,
Let me congratulate you on accomplishing something that no one has done—overcoming the exclusion of non-whites as the head of state in our country’s history. In a failed post-civil rights reality, this is an accomplishment long overdue and one that I applaud. You have my respect.
As you prepare to take office I am sure there are many challenges you face. Recovering the...

Every year my dad, brothers and I vote for our top 25 college football teams.
The voting is spirited and usually very controversial. We have lots of contrary opinions on who we end ranking.

5) Okalahoma 86
6) TCU 69
7) Alabama 64
8) Penn State 62
9) Oregon 60
10) Oklahoma...

It's On Like Donkey Kong :: The 2008 WMF Ultimate...
After much anticipation, the competition has concluded.
See the image below for the 2008 WMF Ultimate Estrogen Fighter Championships double elimination brackets.
Unlike the controversial approached used to arbitrarily determine the 2006 winner (which happened to be Rachelle Serlet), we attempted to make the decision in a more scientifically proven way – flipping a 2003 British 2-pence coin.

40 Weeks :: Claire Jula
What is it about the number 40?
It rained 40 days and 40 nights during the great flood that Noah averted by building an ark.
For 40 years the Hebrews wandered in the wilderness before entering the promised land.
Christ went without food and water for 40 days during the fast that preceded his miraculous life and ministry.
The number 40 seems to represent a time of testing, a time of...
