I think I work in one of the coolest offices anywhere.
First off, the people I work with are insanely amazing. Secondly, the space is just so cool.
Sometimes, in the flow of our work week, we need to boost the people’s morale. So this week we’re all trying to qualify for a high-stakes event. And, the winner gets a prize.
The qualifying round is called 20:20 and it started today, Monday Feb. 25 @ 9:00 a.m. and goes through Wednesday February 27 @ 1:20 p.m.
The deal is that we only have the first 20 hours and 20 minutes of this work week to listen to one song (pre-determined and submitted to the WMF “Events Committee”) as many times as possible.
The song has to be at least 3 minutes and 33 seconds and iTunes will track the play count.
You have to listen to the whole song for it to count for your play total so you have to hit pause on iTunes if you’re using the bathroom or in a meeting. No partial plays count and no playing the song while away from your desk.
You only have to listen to the song you chose once to qualify.
The qualifying round is for the real deal. March 10-14 we’ll have 40 hours to see who wins the big prize, a Smorkin’ Labbit. But the winner(s) of the qualifying round win the real prize, the chance to pick the song that everyone has to listen to for those 40 hours.
Anyway, I chose “Because of You (Remix) [Featuring Kanye West]” by Ne-yo.
I’ve already heard 41 times today. For some strange reason my eyes hurt.
If I listen to it 327 times there’s no way I can lose.
