Mess-Spallin’s uv Mia Naim
Poor Phileena, she gets it coming and going. Our last name is sometimes a little hard for people. First, to spell (I think it’s the 3 vowels in a row, E-U-E, that throws folks). Second, to pronounce.
One of my favorite versions was:
- Cria Henarts
But, some of the more popular are:
- Chris Heurtz
- Chris Huertz
- Chris Hevertz
- Chris Henertz
- Chris Hewertz
- Chris Hurtz
- Chris Hertz
I’m speaking at a conference in Canada this weekend and my contact person with the hosting organization was the first person to actually e-mail me to find out how to pronounce my name, here were some of the clues:
- Hugh-arts
- Hue-artz
- Hew-ertz
In case all this is too much for you, I did go by “Chris Vicious” for almost 10 years.
You can still call me that if you want or need to. In fact, many people I went to college with thought “Vicious” was actually my real last name.
Anyway, if you have any better (what I mean by “better” is actually “worse”) ways to mess up my last night post them here.
The winner might even get a prize.
