The Devil Lived In My TV
When I was a kid my folks were (and still are) the pretty conservative Christian type. Republicans and the whole bit.
Part of that was played out in what was off-limits re: our television and movie viewing options.
Some of the programs my siblings and I weren’t allowed to watch because they were (and maybe still are…) “evil” included:
- The Dungeons and Dragons Cartoon
- Ghost Busters
- Ghost Busters 2
- The Golden Girls (just kidding, seriously)
- Gremlins
- Gremlins 2
- He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
- MTV (anything on MTV)
- Saturday Night Live
- Scooby-Doo
- The Smurfs (of course…)
- Three’s Company
Once I was already moved out of the house, I understand that my younger brothers and sister had a hard time getting The Simpsons, South Park, and the X-Files some play.
Anyway, there were a few others, I guess it’s just too hard to remember them all.
