Bangladeshi Curried Goat Brains or PB&J
Phileena and I have traveled in and through nearly 70 countries.
As you can imagine, we’ve eaten some pretty crazy stuff. Generally, when traveling I’ll seriously eat almost anything. I mean it.
Some of the more notable meals that I’ve actually enjoyed include:
- Fish Head Tea in Jamaica
- Curried Goat Brains in Bangladesh
- All sorts of deep fried larva, grubs, and what seemed to be beetles and forms of grasshoppers on the streets of Thailand (sadly, on multiple occasions)
- Fish Head (actually the pounded mash of fish heads) Curry in South India
- Rabbit and Frog Tapas in Spain
- Raw Oysters wherever I can find them
- All sorts of crazy little Octopus looking things in Singapore
- Nearly boiling hot SUPER thick and creamy Goat Milk in Israel
- Cow Heart in Peru
- Dried Pork Floss (what the heck does that mean) in Taiwan
- Blood Sausage and Grilled Cow Intestines in Argentina (not a fan…)
- Durian (the smelliest fruit in the world… no joke) in Malaysia
- Yak and Water Buffalo Steaks in Nepal
- Giraffe and Zebra in Kenya
I could keep rolling with this list, but I won’t, because basically, most of that stuff I just listed was pretty awesome.
What’s a little weird, and I confess this, is that I’ll eat almost anything while traveling, but here in the good ole’ US of A I’m actually kind of picky…
Among the things I’ve not tried or won’t try here in my own homeland include:
- Mustard
- Catsup
- Mayonnaise
- Ranch Dressing
- Cole slaw
- Sweet Potatoes
- Olives
- Pickles
- Egg Salad
- Potato Salad
- Macaroni Salad
- Peanut Butter and Jelly (together)
- Cottage Cheese
- Deviled Eggs
- Turkey Stuffing
- Carrot Cake
- Meatloaf
I’m not sure what my problem is, but at least I know I have one.
