Blog Post 100  : : Happy B-Day Blog!!!

It was February 17, 2008 that I decided to come out of blogging retirement and give this a second chance. I didn’t have a lot to go on, so as you can tell if you’ve followed this, it’s been more like the rantings and ravings of a mad-man than the blogging attempts of a sane person.

Over the past year I’ve somehow managed to put out 100 blog posts. Some of them were pretty bad, I admit it. A few of  them seemed to resonate with people. And others that I thought weren’t super-readable, actually struck a nerve and provoked lots of discussion. The highlights (not necessarily the most popular) would have to include (in order of most-viewed):

Thanks to Google Analytics I’ve been able to track lots and lots of blog stats—you know I love that. The program reported that the blog has been viewed over 24,800 times in at least 72 countries.

I also added disqus.com to allow for comments. Thanks for being a chatty group of readers, there were 509 comments, not bad. And I really am a huge proponent of free-speech but have to admit that I did delete one comment—a comment that was racist (sorry, not gonna let those things linger out there).

On some of the posts, the comments themselves actually took on a life of themselves and started new conversations among the readers. That was fun.

So as I look into the next year of blogging I’m excited to keep at it and keep hearing from you all.

And get ready… I have some fun stuff that I’ll be posting, some controversial conversations that should create some heated debate and of course I’ll try to entertain you with things that are funny while hopefully still being almost appropriate.
